We undertook a full house renovation with Artisan Living, which included excavating under our existing 3-storey house, extending our living areas, restructuring the interior, revamping the exterior, and landscaping the whole block. We have had previous work done by the partners who are now in the Artisan Living and were very happy with the work done then. When we approached them for a quote for our renovations, they were responsive, thorough and very professional. Their quote was very competitive and structured in a way that made it clear that they understood the scope of work. Timelines and cost breakdown was clear and professional.
Communications was excellent and very transparent. Problems were highlighted immediately, and suggested solutions were processed quickly and effectively. In spite of several hiccups in execution (due to no alignment of the existing structure and discrepancies in the drawings), the work was completed on time and exactly to budget (to an accuracy of less than $1.00). Variations were handled promptly and fully accounted for.
We got exactly what we wanted – in spite of having to completely change the structural approach due to the misalignment of a wall which was supposed to have been retained. When the error was discovered, the team came up with an excellent alternative design which enabled us to still complete on time and in budget. They constantly come up with suggestions on how to improve on our plans and we ended up with a superior addition to our house.
